About Our Church

Hello There!

Here at United Hope SDA Church we believe wholeheartedly in the gospel commission, which is to go, reach, and teach the timeless words of life, as found in the Bible.

Our services include Saturday morning bible study for all age groups, praise and worship, followed by the spoken word. We also invite you to join our Wednesday evening prayer and an interactive study of the Bible on Friday evenings!

Please explore all that this website has to offer. If your search leads you to more questions than are answered here, please Contact Us and we will be happy to provide further assistance.

We invite YOU to come and be a part of the United Hope experience!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to proclaim to all peoples the everlasting gospel in the context of the three angels' messages of Revelation 14: 6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as their personal savior, and encourage them to unite with His church and prepare for His soon return.

Church History

In the summer of 1998, nine members of The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church of the Oranges, worked together to plant a church in Irvington, NJ. After two years, this small company, with 35 charter members, officially became Irvington SDA Church --the first SDA church in Irvington, NJ. As their membership rapidly increased, and after searching and renting various locations, on July 16, 2003 a permanent church home was established.

Seventeen years later, the Lord saw it fit for this church to relocate to Union, NJ. In April 2020, Irvington SDA became United Hope SDA -- the first SDA Church in Union, NJ.

With a membership of over 250, we, the United Hope SDA Church, seek to engage with, minister to, and serve the community as the Lord leads and blesses us.

Why Saturday?

The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week, according to the Bible, and was observed by Jesus when He lived here on Earth.

When discussing the Sabbath, the Bible never assigns any other day to this title. In fact, the command to keep the Sabbath holy is found in God's eternal moral law.

We can follow Jesus’ example by refraining from our regular daily work to focus on Him and His creation.
